Hello there,
Each year, when the month of December comes, it always felt a little too short and a little too long. Dec 1st to Dec 20th felt like forever and poof, it's already Dec 30th. The rush to get gifts and finish off the things for the year, pushing everything at work to hopefully be completed ASAP or meet you next year and the many Christmas dinners and lunch with friends and family. Somehow, the past year, I have quite a handful of friends who has birthday in December so more presents and dinners over there!
It is always a beautiful time with the Christmas lights up in most malls, putting up the Christmas tree at home, wrapping up presents and trying to grab the best sales in town. Although the month of December is always a busy month, there is always something fun around the corner and never a dull moment. Plus point? It's the birthday month so there are TONS of sales specially for the birthday girl! Free cakes and free drinks from shops that I had been spending money in since the beginning of the year and vouchers to make me spend more? OH YASSSS! It's like the only reason to have my birthday during Christmas season. Now, don't get me wrong - I don't buy presents for myself unless I really want something. Buying things for people is somehow my love language in some ways.
Now, let's get into business of this post.
2020 birthday started way earlier than usual since this is the first year since I started working that I am able to have my birthday to myself instead of dedicating it to work. First year without deadlines and payroll closure - how about that for celebration? *cheers*
The celebration started off on 11th December with my family members - and yes - I planned the whole thing by myself but that is the fun part! Who knew that planning your own birthday is actually fun? I get to choose how the cake looks like, what food I can eat and what drinks I should have. I even get to choose what to write on the cake! Although... that was a little white lie that I have to tell to my favorite baker. It was embarrassing to say that the cake was for me! Like duhh - I don't have that much self confidence to pronounced to the world that I was planning my own birthday! I will get better at this and who knows one day I would actually invite people to my own planned birthday?
I had my favorite baker (Midnightbakeryusj) baked a beautiful cake! Let me drop the picture here.
It's a white sponge cake, chocolate flavored with rainbow sprinkles on it! I would have love more sprinkles but I am one happy birthday girl that night.
I ordered in McDonald nuggets and fries, had some kisses on the table, threw myself some birthday song and even had a small little photoshoot with the fambam. It was a good night. :)
The fun had just begun that night - the next day was party time! Nah - I actually wanted to get a tattoo done on the birthday itself but somehow that could not happen due to tons of backlog from the tattoo artist side. I always wanted to finish my tattoo that I had way back but have not gotten the chance to do so. Besides, this tattoo artist that I am looking for is specialized in poking tatts and I have always wanted to have one tatt that is hand poked instead of machines.
Instead of that, I spend my time with JT and JC who kinda threw a cute birthday car experience. They have unicorns, flowers petals, a gift wrapped really cute and we even get to visit a Teddy Bear Cafe!
Look at how adorable those food and drink looks! Their service was great and their food was good too! We enjoyed ourselves and though I did not take more pictures of this place, you can visit their Instagram @theteddyrestaurant to check out their deco and food!
We then went to a fine dining fusion place that serve Chinese mix with some western I guess? The food that we order contributed different taste to my taste buds and I would dare to say that their alcohol is good! It gives you a nice kick and that night, I think we managed to pour out our emotions and feelings. The lighting and vibes was just nice for that and somehow, that was the night that I decided to make it my goal to see a therapist so that I can grow positively in the year 2021.
Oh oh! It was also my first time seeing a guy proposed to his babe in real life! It was cute!

Now, the next day there was more food and fun involved!
The girls bought a Onsen package and low and behold! Malaysia has onsen laa! Although its different from how the onsen works in Japan, but still an experience that I would never forget (I hope)
Well, if you have not heard about it, it's called Urban Retreat Spa located in Mount Kiara. You can find out more on their Instagram @urbanretreatspamy They have different packages with different salt, depending if you want healing or beauty purposes. It's a 40 minute session where you get to pamper yourself by washing, scrubbing and soaking - and then you do it all over again. The tempearature that we had was 40 degree and offfff! The feeling after when we got out of the onsen and all, it felt sooo good! I had some time to ponder on the night before and I did not really enjoy how my thoughts run but I am also glad I had my phone with me.
Right after the session, once you are ready, they served you some cold tea and swift roll cake. It felt - like your whole body has been refreshed and it is ready to get back into action. Of course after that awesome experience, we had to fill our stomach so we head over to Bombay Palace. It is a restaurant located in Kuala Lumpur and the food there was delicious! We had quite a number of food on the table and each of the dishes was sooo good!
You can find them at their Instagram @bombaypalacekl
One thing here - they have round table and to have dinner over a round table is the best feeling ever. You get to see everyone on the table and you get to share the different dishes in front of you. Do you feel the same way or is it just my Chinese blood speaking here?
And - that is how I entered into my official age of 28 year old. It has been a good run running with this body of mine and given the way things has been going, I am glad we are still alive and making things happen. I am glad that I have these amazing family and friends who supported me and able to push me to be my better self. I am glad that our lives intertwined and we end up here today. It has been such fun having these ladies and some boys (part of a whole group where everyone birthday is in December so we kinda celebrate everyone's birthday together) at this stage of my life right now. I do hope that when I look back at these memories, these people would still be in it.
Cheers to another year!
With that, we have one more year before we hit the big 30! Hmm - what should I plan for that huh?
